Diversity and Inclusion
Founded in 1994, Sanchez & Amador is certified 100% minority-owned. More than half our partners are women, more than half our partners are attorneys of color, more than half of our associates are attorneys of color, and 80% of our associates are women.
We are committed to advancing diversity and leading within our profession. We don’t have diversity committees, programs, scorecards, or initiatives. It’s just what we do.
We support and encourage alternative work arrangements for lawyers with parental and caregiving responsibilities.
Our attorneys actively mentor women and minority attorneys both internally and in other firms and in-house.
We are an active member of NAMWOLF, the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms. Our partners have continuously served as members of the NAMWOLF board of directors since 2009. Our lawyers have chaired NAMWOLF’s Admissions, Communications, Emerging Leaders, Labor & Employment, CLE, Annual Meeting, and other committees.
We are a member of CMCP, the California Minority Counsel Program. Our lawyers have held CMCP board seats and chaired the Annual Conference and Search Committees, as well as CMCP’s Ambassador’s Council.
We are a member of NELC, the National Employment Law Council. Our lawyers have held NELC Board seats since 2007 and chaired its Annual Conference, the NELC Academy, and Los Angeles Area Reception committees.
Our attorneys helped found the NELC Academy in 2011, an advanced-skills program for competitively selected junior minority employment defense associates from across the country, and several of our lawyers serve on its faculty and as mentors to Academy Fellows.
We helped found NELC’s In-House Career Accelerator Program (ICAP), to assist new in-house minority attorneys with the transition from a law firm environment to a corporate law department.
We sponsor activities of NAMWOLF, CMCP, NELC, Hispanic National Bar Association, Black Women Lawyers, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), and other similar organizations. Our lawyers have raised many thousands of sponsorship and scholarship dollars for these organizations, and recruited dozens of members, volunteers, and speakers.
Our attorneys are actively encouraged to engage in community service, mentoring, and bar service, and fully supported in their efforts to do so.
